The upper part of the Bang Nara Estuary, located to the south of Narathat Beach, is one of the most famous and beautiful sightseeing spots in Narathiwat. There are rows of sea oaks along both sides of the estuary. A small public park is provided for people to stroll, relax, and exercise. Visitors can also walk to the concrete bridge which leads to the lighthouse of Narathat Beach. In addition, there are the viewpoints offering a close-up look of the local fishing community’s lifestyle near the Bang Nara Estuary that are on the top of the Prida Narathat Bridge and Wira Phatthana Bridge, both of which are used for crossing over Khlong Khok Khian, a branch canal of the river located very closely to the Bang Nara Estuary. Along both sides of the canal are the local fishermen’s houses where Ruea Ko Lae or traditional fishing boats can be seen, mooring, coming in and going out all day.
