Wat Tonson in Talat Luang Subdistrict is a venerable sanctuary steeped in antiquity, renowned for its resplendent Somdet Phra Si Mueang Thong Buddha image cast in brass. This Buddha image in the posture of Subduing Mara, spanning 14 metres in lap width and towering 19 metres in height, beauty of sanctity that captivates the hearts of devotees across Ang Thong province and beyond. Beyond its sacred centrepiece, the temple trims with beautiful relics treasures, including the Lord Buddha’s relics, and the Luang Pho Dam Buddha image situated on a pedestal. The Buddha image shares similarities with Somdet Phra Si Mueang Thong and is flanked by disciples, adorned with golden accessories. Inside the temple, beautiful wall art surrounds the area, adding to the temple’s aesthetic appeal. The temple grounds also house Sam Phok Krong Shrine, Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, Guan Yin, Phra Phuttha Sothorn, Chao Mae Takhian Thong Shrine, Luang Pu Thuat, the Shrine of Phra Inthra Phra Ket Kaeo Chulamani Chedi, and Wang Macha, where the temple nurtures a school of fish along the banks of the Chao Phraya River Dam.
