Phangan Royal Navy Ship, Koh Phangan

Overview

The Phangan Royal Navy Ship is one of the island’s famous landmarks. It is located at Thong Sala Pier and near the Rama IX memorial statue. It was given by the United States to the Thai government as a symbol of good relations. This ship was used by the Thai Royal Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from service last June 5, 2008. Since 2014, it serves as the official Rama IX Memorial Museum which shows memoirs, images, and documents about Thailand’s kings.
