Ayutthaya Guide
An ancient city filled with temples and historic ruins.
Overview of Ayutthaya
Ayutthaya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for good reason. The ancient city is packed full of temples and ruins, making it a fascinating place to explore.
If you want to avoid the crowds, it’s best to arrive in Ayutthaya early in the morning. This way you’ll have plenty of time to explore the temples and ruins before the tour groups arrive. Keep in mind that many of the sites close around 4pm, so you’ll need to make the most of your time.
A great way to get around Ayutthaya is by bicycle. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it’s also a great way to see the sights at your own pace. You can hire a bicycle from most guesthouses and hotels, or you can rent one from one of the many shops in town. Be aware that it can get very hot so this might not be for everyone!
