Ubon Ratchathani Guide

A major province in North-Eastern Thailand, Isaan

Overview of Ubon Ratchathani

Ubon Ratchathani, a province in northeastern Thailand’s Isan region, is a rural province of rice paddies and small villages. You can find here the Pha Taem National Park which features waterfalls and ancient cliff paintings. Phu Chong Nayoi is another national park that is unspoiled and has unvisited natural preserves.

Some of the other attractions you can visit are Sam Pan Boak or the Grand Canyon of Thailand, Huai Sai Yai waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Northeastern Thailand, Kaeng Saphuee Public park, Wat Tham Khuha Sawan, and Wat Phrathat Nong Bua. For those who want to see local festivities, a Candle Festival is being held during Khao Phansa Day. It is the most important event in the province in which huge and elaborately carved candles are paraded throughout the city.
